Life Before Life

Around the world, children as young as two or three years old begin speaking spontaneously about a previous life. Often they show strong emotional attachments to these memories, recounting specific details about names, places and events that they should have no way of knowing. Child psychiatrist Dr Jim B. Tucker examines these extraordinary cases, drawing on decades of stories that have been amassed at the University of Virginia Medical Center. We learn about a boy in Michigan whose birthmarks match his late brother's wounds; a toddler in Turkey who can recall intimate details about a man who died fifty years before he was born; and a girl in Sri Lanka who can recognise the family members of a deceased stranger. 'Life Before Life' is a landmark work - one that has the potential to challenge and ultimately change the way we think about life and death.
